It looks like Donald Trump supporters aren’t the only vicious voters out there. The Wire actor Wendell Pierce, a noted Hillary Clinton supporter, was arrested over the weekend for allegedly attacking a woman who is a supporter of Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders at an Atlanta hotel.
Atlanta Police Department spokesman Donald Hannah said in a statement that Pierce, 52, was arrested Saturday morning at the Loews Atlanta Hotel.
According to TMZ, Pierce was having a conversation with the woman and her boyfriend. After she revealed her support for Sanders, Pierce allegedly pushed her boyfriend away before “grabbing her hair and smacking her in the head.”
Upon fleeing to their hotel room, the couple called the police.
Fulton County Jail records reveal that Pierce was charged for simple battery Saturday and released the same day on a $1,000 bond.
Pierce recently played the role of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas in the HBO TV movie Confirmation.
